"Influenced by their surroundings and drawing inspiration from acts like Incubus, Kings of Leon and Cold War Kids, these guys are producing some of the most exciting indie rock we’ve heard in this second half of the year." - ToneDeaf.
This indie-groovepop 5 piece hail from the Top End of Australia, with musical influences that have very been much shaped by their surroundings. With the laid-back, “beers on the beach on a Sunday afternoon” attitude that reflects the Northern Territory lifestyle to a tee – Dylan, Jaxon, Paul, Zac and Jay bring a refreshing and welcoming change to the soundscape to today’s popular music.
Their first single Stumptail (from their debut EP release Stories) took out the People’s Choice category for NT Song of the Year, and has been added to Spotify Australian and NZ’s ‘Indie Mixtape’ playlist, with over 8000 plays to date.
Embarking on a national tour in October in support of their debut EP ‘Stories’ (Presented by The Music & Territory-based Triple J promoter NOOK Events), get to know these 5 fun, charismatic lads as they bring their tropical-fresh tunes to the rest of Australia.
“Great to see music like At The Dakota coming out of Darwin, pop/rock songs with a raw edge and captivating vocals.” – James Mangohig (Sietta/Damn Moroda)
"In a band like At The Dakota, there are musicians who have performed either under their own solo names, or in other successful bands for years now, and in their work together for this project, it's clear that with Stories comes a wide range of influences and experiences" - The AU Review
