D-town Battles For Youths
Darwin’s evolving hip hop scene is about to be centre stage in a couple of weeks when the D-town Battles festival kicks off.
The festival is teaming up with headspace to bring this event to Darwin. D-town Battles‘ aims to raise awareness about youth mental health within the community through the art of hip hop.
Free workshops will be running over two days giving youths interested in the hip hop culture an opportunity to connect with professionals in the game. Workshops include beat and sound production, breakdancing and lyric writing.
D-town Battles kick off December 17 with the workshops, and an all ages gig at Brown’s Mart December 18 to close the event.
