Ben Allen singing Broadwing performs at NT Song of the Year Awards 2015

It was a spectacular night for the Territorian music community at the fourth annual NT song of the Year awards where singers, songwriters, producers were recognised for their contribution to the music industry.

With around 300 nominations in 11 categories, competition was tough. MusicNT Executive Director Mark Smith said the awards demonstrated the breadth of musical talent in the Territory. “It’s great to see the NT Song of the Year Awards truly representing NT songwriting.”

Katherine singer songwriter Ben Allen (aka Broadwing) claimed the Overall Song of the Year with his track Pockets. Ben cleaned up at the awards with a trifecta win taking home awards in the Folk for and Electronic category also.
