Wide Open Space Festival Returns In 2020!

Head to the heartland for Australia’s most centred festival in May 2020.

Following a strategic gap year in 2019 after an extraordinary decade on the tools, the much-loved Wide Open Space will once again call the East MacDonnell Ranges of Central Australia its home. Festivities will officially kick off Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd May 2020 at the Ross River Resort, a short scenic drive from Alice Springs. The resort provides a comfy playground with cabins, showers, shady Red River Gums, a well stocked bar and even a themed pool party.

Early-bird tickets are now on sale for the multi-day festival which celebrates all things music and arts amongst the breathtaking desert landscape. We’re talking an intimate affair run by an independent team of locals who are committed to delivering a broad creative program from grassroots to internationally recognised artists. If you’re after a family-friendly festival that has a reputation for showcasing up-and coming artists from across Australia and gives you the excuse to explore outback Central Australia, then WOS is your invitation to get centred!

The festival is also calling on expressions of interest for 2020 with Music and Arts Applications now open. Over the last decade, WOS has presented a diverse program with the likes of Regurgitator (lead image above), Om Unit (UK), Hiatus Kaiyote, Mojo Juju, L-Fresh the Lion, Haiku Hands, local Alice Springs artist Resin Moon and an amazing array of Indigenous acts from the NT. Applications close late December with the first line up to be announced early 2020.
