With the National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAS) 2016 just around the corner, here is a little throwback to last year’s event when Foldback Magazine was invited to cover the ceremony. We look forward to this year’s awards and wish all the nominated artists the best.
Indigenous Australia has produced amazing musical talent over the years and no doubt 2016 will continue to offer the country, and indeed the world, much, much more. The melding of traditional and modern music and dance is the true charm of contemporary Indigenous music, bridging cultural gaps and helping to bring the nation closer together as one people.
