The 2022 National Indigenous Music Awards announced a return to an in-person ceremony at Darwin Amphitheatre on 6 August. It was the awards’ first live ceremony there since 2019.
BARKAA led the announced finalists with four nominations. Thelma Plum and Baker Boy each received three. The performance bill included Thelma Plum, King Stingray, Emma Donovan & the Putbacks, Birdz, Fred Leone, Yirrmal and J-MILLA.
