Camp Dog and The Feral Cats are a band that spawned from the local Darwin Music Scene. A bunch of meandering musicians got together toward the end of 2021 to work through a few original numbers for an event at CDU and felt there was enough magic amongst the group to continue with their lofty ambitions, and they now aim to be an integral part of the fabric of the Darwin music scene. Just like in real life when camp dogs and feral cats get together, there is plenty of noise, plenty of tension, plenty of energy and they are bound to grab your full attention! Their songs and sounds are at times hard to pinpoint into one genre, but they dabble in rock, alt rock, country rock, indie rock, and a new genre they like to refer to as cat and dog rock.

Growing up in tropical Darwin in the Northern Territory, Emma Rowe has a unique talent for crafting quirky, contemporary songs that combine hope, frustration and joy in a surprisingly complicated but completely relatable style.

Emma Rowe is FINALLY releasing new music. Think pop songs, rock songs, pop/rock songs, and most importantly – catchy AF songs.

Emma has an impressive catalogue of support slots including performing with Amanda Palmer, Regurgitator, Big Scary, Frank Turner, Jebediah and Christine Anu. She has also played at major events including BASSINTHEGRASS, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Darwin Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Aireys Inlet Music Festival, Royal Darwin and Adelaide Show and Carols By Candlelight Darwin. She’s also a very nice person (and I’m not just saying that because I am her).

Forty years on, and with their messages of positive engagement in Indigenous rights and environmental protection more relevant than ever, Australian icons Goanna return to celebrate their multi-platinum, game-changing debut album ‘Spirit of Place’.
In the early ‘80s, in the midst of Aussie Rock’s golden age, Goanna helped forge a new Australian identity. Before Midnight Oil and Paul Kelly addressed similar issues, the iconic ‘Solid Rock’ stoked a fire for Indigenous rights that hasn’t gone out, while the anthem of ‘Let The Franklin Flow’ was a call to arms for the emerging environmental movement. Soulful, lyrical, brimming with musicality and creative volatility, Goanna mixed classic folk song craft with spirited roots rock, helping to establish a musical thread that remains vital and ubiquitous in Australian music today.
In 2022, Shane Howard, Rose Bygrave, Marcia Howard and Graham Davidge, together with special guests, embark on a new journey, paying homage to their classic songs and reigniting the Goanna spirit once more.

“Chalk, Cheese, Chicken & Pixie” is an intimate acoustic display of original works performed by local singer/songwriter/guitarist Pixie Keenan.
With emotive, heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics backed by a melancholy guitar, these songs are catchy yet personal telling tales of heartache, yearning, obsession and self-discovery.

I submitted this show last year and was unfortunately cancelled due to covid – essentially I’d like to display my original music with perhaps
a few covers that I’ve put my unique spin on them – the real stars of the show though will.

Local favourites Jahquavis will be bringing us some beautiful Arnhem-land reggae to set-out the night. This 7-piece band has played all over the top-end and have recently recorded their first EP.

Tara Rostron from Ripple Effect band will be gracing the stage with a 4-piece band. Stemming from Maningrida, Eastern Arnhem land Tara sings songs of Country, hunting and culture in an impressive selection of languages including in Kune, Barrada and Guningu.

Female producer/musician Ta’sia with Yolngu and Turkish Musician Ena Malibu combining live beats, improvisation and vocals. The pair played at Barunga Festival 2021 and are back in the top end for some more.

Issa Mane and The Cinco Royal All Stars will be putting down some serious Dub n’ Reggae for the top end event. Hailing all the way from Senegal 9 years ago Issa Mane brings his beautiful languages of Wolof, French and Jola alive through songs of music, love, politics and famine. Behind him is The Cinco Royal All Stars, the Dub outfit created by the musicians around him including Clarence Playford, Annastasia Lucas, Philip Eaton and a bunch more.
