Centralian Music Artist Releases New EP

Mountain Whisper is the new EP from Central Australian-based cellist and vocalist XAVIA.

XAVIA

Ambient indie folk atop crisp, intricate electronic production by award-winning producer and fellow Centralian Dave Crowe (aka Resin Moon), XAVIA‘s ‘Mountain Whisper‘ has a lot in store for the listener, with some inspired remixes by the formidable Broadwing (aka Ben Allen) and Dante Nou. Be prepared for a multi-layered offering that will make you want to play the tracks over and over again in case you missed something.

XAVIA‘s sublime vocals sail artfully upon a sea of instrumentality (both acoustic and electronic) to produce a truly astounding aural sculpture in ‘Mountain Whisper‘. Captivating and moving, the tracks of ‘Mountain Whisper‘ are to be imbibed rather than merely listened to. This is not background music. XAVIA‘s offerings are musically intellectual and spiritual at the same time, and require little effort to appreciate.

“The songs on this EP are inspired by my desert home – the vast mountain views, shimmering gold, the stillness and emotional clarity it has offered, as well as the rich creative community in and around Alice Springs.” – XAVIA

Mountain Whisper‘ includes the breakout single Horizons, which along with the two remixes of the track have picked up close to 4 million streams on Spotify. Focus track ‘Resting Heartbeat, a beautifully evolving electronic track, “is about long love, the shades of deep love over time, reflected across the universe,” reflects XAVIA, while ‘Our Silence‘ is a smooth, poised piano-led ballad for lovers of London Grammar or Phoebe Bridges. ‘Rain Falls‘ evokes images of the rare but welcome desert rains of Central Australia, while ‘Saulé‘, and earlier single release we wrote about in August this year, features on the EP along with a beautifully- shot music video now up on Youtube:

As the artist explains, “The songs on this EP are inspired by my desert home – the vast mountain views, shimmering gold, the stillness and emotional clarity it has offered, as well as the rich creative community in and around Alice Springs.” Her home is wonderfully portrayed in the Saulé video.
