LEGENDARY ED KUEPPER ‘SOLO & BY REQUEST’ AT THE RAILS
Words & Pic By Steve 'Habibi' Kelk
Australian rock legend Ed Kuepper brought his unique style of melodic, layered guitar riffs and understated, mellow vocals to a packed Darwin Railway Club last night in a solo ‘by request’ show on the Darwin leg of his national tour.
Eagerly anticipated by young and older fans alike, the 1970’s punk and and rock icon has remained active as a singer-songwriter to this day, his instantly recognisable sound resonating across generations and winning him multiple ARIA Awards. The set list was decided mostly by callouts from the audience, punctuated by a lifetime of musical and life anecdotes from a truly accomplished and internationally acclaimed artist.
Ed was ably supported by the LA-based, Australian born singer-songwriter D Henry Fenton, who’s heartfelt performance proved to be the perfect accompaniment to Mr Kuepper’s sublime works.
